Learn piano, violin, or music theory with Danny and Alex

Hello – we are Danny and Alex and are delighted to share our love of music with you!

We live in Chiswick with our cat, Pushkin, and offer music lessons in our house – but we can also travel to students’ homes in the nearby areas of Notting Hill, Holland Park, Kensington, or further afield if needed.

We would be delighted to hear from you and offer an initial consultation lesson free of charge – please do get in touch if you would like to know more: info@merton-music.com.

A bit about us…

Alex

With degrees in Music & Law from the University of Oxford, Alex grew up as a violinist from the age of 6 years old, with additional studies in piano and flute. She now works in the classical music business, managing the performance careers of famous instrumentalists, and enjoys giving back to the community by performing in local care homes and sharing her love of music through teaching the violin and music theory, from beginners and up to and including Grade 8.

Danny

As a child, Danny studied the piano at the Yehudi Menuhin School for gifted young musicians, and went on to study piano performance at London’s Royal Academy of Music. As a concert pianist, he performed at venues such as the Wigmore Hall and the Royal Festival Hall in London, and Carnegie Hall in New York. Like Alex, Danny then embarked on a successful career as manager of famous musicians, including some of the most well-known pianists in the world – from whom he deepened his understanding of piano technique and music. Danny is a co-founder of an artificial intelligence company specialising in digital software solutions for music, with an eight-figure valuation. Following a period of sabbatical due to illness, Danny is now happily fully recovered and has returned to his first love of the piano and piano teaching. In his spare time he enjoys eating fine food and volunteering for the charity Bipolar UK.

Pushkin

Pushkin the Birman cat shares a home with Danny and Alex. He has a love of catnip, occasionally sings along to the piano, and enjoys rewarding talented students with a satisfied purr and display of his fluffy tummy.
